Anyone seen "Three Wishes (Hazelnuts) For Cinderella" (1973)??

It kills me that this movie isn't more well-known among English-speaking audiences. It's Czech, original title being "Tri orisky pro Popelku" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070832/?ref_=nv_sr_1.

In many countries in Europe, it's shown every Christmas, so someone here must have seen it?

Anyway I'd call it a classic. Highly recommended. It is beautifully filmed, astounding production values and gorgeous costumes, has lots of humour and an intelligent, active Cinderella with a strong personality. The lead is both a good actress and a radiant beauty.

This Lily James version is ok, but made me wish more people knew of the 1973 version.

I've seen it a number of times and love it! On Saturday mornings, I think in the Seventies, they had a program for juveniles: international films for youth. I also watched it again on YouTube though I don't know if it's still available.

I'd love to watch it again and again!

Love this version. Probably my favorite Cinderella movie. I also love the winter setting it makes it more unique.

Agree with you all - - love it! So do my daughters! Our public library has the DVD, I think it's also available on amazon.
We laughed ourselves silly over the horrid Disney live-action - - we look at each other and breathily say "Have courage - - be kind!" So badly done - - espec. compared to Three Wishes!
