The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Movie vs. Book

Hey guys, my name is Jody. I'm a year 12 student from an IB School in Indonesia.

At the moment, I'm doing an essay about The Perks of Being a Wallflower, where the differences between the movie and the book versions are being discussed. However to support the analysis in my writings, I need a sample of opinions from people who have both read the book and watched the movie.

Just in case you've done both + you don't mind if i could have a few minutes of your time, I really need you guys to help me by answering these questions:

1. Have you both read the book and watched the movie versions of The Perks of Being a Wallflower?

A. Yes
B. I have only read the book
C. I have only watched the movie

2. If you've done both, did you think the movie had the same emotional release that the book did?

A. Yes
B. No

(you're welcomed to explain your reason)

3. Did you aware that there were quite a number of changes in the movie? (see: http://goo.gl/2ZyCnm)

A. Yes
B. Sort of, I only spotted a few
C. Not at all

4. Which version do you like better?

A. Book
B. Movie
C. I love both versions

Wish you nothing but a great day, thanks a bunch guys!

1/. A, both.

2/. A,yes. I say yes, but they were also completely different. The book is was a slow burn of emotions building to a crescendo that made me question myself for quite a while. Where as the movie was a slap in the face, punch in the stomach rapid fire emotional rollercoaster. With the final result being a similar journey of soul searching.

3/. A, yes. I did notice most of them, yet was able to (unlike many other adaptations) seperate the whilst maintaining a high level of enjoyment without the constant train of thought nitpicking the differences.

4/. C, I love both versions.
