Alex + Luke should have fought

My only critiscism of the movie is there was no final fight for those two.

Last Movies Seen:
Theater: The Cabin In The Woods
DVD : The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo

I too was surprised that as violent and action-packed as this film was, they allowed that fight to end before it even got started. Maybe they ran out their budget and couldn't afford one last tango. It's ok, I enjoy watching Statham fight multiple opponents more anyway.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed about that. They should have fought a little bit before the other outcome occurred. It was a love hate for me. I hated there wasn't a last battle, but I loved how they compensated. It was pretty funny. I wanted to see just how good Alex was. Maybe it will be on the DVD.

i liked it the way it was because they actually suprised me, granted a last fist fight still wouldve been awsome. You guys think that Alex wouldve beatin him like the little girl said? lol

Kill them all, Let God sort em out

Little girl saw Alex fight. Bad business for Luke.

***SPOILERS***

I LOVED the way the movie ended. It was so much more realistic then some long unnecessary fight scene. Mei was too smart to just sit there like a rock and let something bad happen to Luke. She wasn't just going to sit on her hands and let them fight for a little while... she saw her opportunity and took it instantly, no hesitation. Probably the most realistic part of the entire movie, imo.

Dead on. I would have liked a nice last battle but this felt good too.

They even show her get the gun slightly. When they show Alex taking off his glasses, she is leaning over as to grab something. I laughed because I knew what she was doing.

reply

i agree. otherwise, it would have been too predictable.

reply

i liked it. made a nice change.

when did she see him fight though!? did we see that part??

reply

It would be interesting to watched Luke get beaten up...

Didn't he lose the majority of the time in cagefighting, that means he isn't exactly portraying the best of the best.

reply

In the cage fights it is explained Luke lets himself be pummeled by everyone as penance for his past misdeeds.

reply

oh seems like I missed that, thanks for mentioning it

reply

oh i also liked the scene ending like that, better i think. and as someone already said mei saw alex fighting so its bad business for luke, she saw when alex kicked all of the bad boys asses when he went to get the little girl from quan chang.

I thought the ending was better, less of a cliche.

And Alex would have beaten Luke, Luke is good, but he had been living rough and drinking a lot the last couple of years + been fighting non-stop for the past day while Alex only had one fight which he finished before it even started.

I have a feeling if the scene was different - a one on one fight, we would see a post about the plot hole with the guns being there and the little girl not doing anything - especially seeing her last "protector" killed before her eyes.

I'm just sayin'

If I remember correctly, Scott Adkins was supposed to be in this movie and I guess it was in Alex' role, which would have made a great fight scene.

We get a taste of that showdown in Ex2

I'll admit I felt a bit cheated but I still enjoyed the ending. The little girl had just as an important role as Jason did in this movie and the ending emphasized this, I feel a final fight would've tipped the scale in Jason's favor on importance in this movie. Plus her reasoning for doing it was funny.
