I understand the cash was for the Chinese to buy the disc from the Mayor, and I assume that the Mayor had all the info on the Chinese operation that his crew collected and was using it as a sort of nest egg. Who was the Mayors bag man? I assume he was a former cop since the ending scene includes references to him and Statham dumping bodies, did I miss them introducing him somewhere?
shareThe Mayor mentions that Statham was sent to him by some government friends to help fight against crime after 9/11. So while Statham joins the police task force, what he really does is use his skillls to just kill criminals and dump their bodies, probabably making it look like gang warfare. Obviously during this scene, the Mayor doesn't mention Alex at all, but I think it's safe to assume that whoever sent Statham to the mayor's assistance, also sent Alex along to aide Statham. The difference is just that Alex didn't join the police force at all. And when the group was disbanded, Alex became the mayor's assistant and lover. I think this is correct lol
