ok, i watched this on Netflix, and i couldn't rewind for some reason (it just played straight thru). Stupid Wii...

anyway: couple questions:

1) The Chinese were paying the mayor for a disc of info about payoffs? And the russians wanted to hijack the girl for the cash? Or did the Russians have another motive?

2) The mayor had a bunch of info about payoffs to dirty cops...why? Or was this a list of terrorist/etc cash that went to mobsters after 9/11? I didn't follow that bit of exposition (when Alex is explaining to someone over the phone how the mayor "looked the other way").

3) Statham ends the movie not getting ANY of the cash? He gives $50K to the dirty cop, then hands the $29.95M back to David Lo Pan? I understand he gave the Chinese their money to avoid their pursuit, but still...wasn't he homeless a few days ago? How's he paying for gas to Seattle?

Thanks. I liked the movie, but i'm not feeling the need to watch it again, aside from the questions about the ridiculous plot...

Just finished watching for the first time on Netflix. Darn 360 kept taking it out of HD. The plot got very tricky once the talk of a disc came to light. Afraid I can't help you much as it didn't totally make sense, but I still liked the film.

I have some questions myself. So Lo Pan gets the safe's combination, then doesn't even keep it on him? Where was the disc? It's really tough to keep track of something never presented to the audience. Also, was anyone thinking that at the end we'd see a photo of Luke's wife and she would be Chinese.

Just saw the movie, I think the answers are as below:

1) The disc included details about the Russians. So, the Russians were looking for the disc

2) The disc included details about underworld cash dealings etc. The Chinese wanted to get this disc so that they could blackmail the Russians and gain more control over the city.

3) I didn't get this bit as well - I believe he might have stolen a few of the credit cards perhaps? He did kill a *beep* of bad guys in the movie haha ;)

Movie made literally no sense. Also why didnt he kill the guy that had tortured his wife to death? He kills like 999 different filler-"bad guys" but the on character we know he has bad history with, rly bad history, he lets him live? *beep* stupid *beep* film.
