The scene when Luke first rescues Mei from the cops has a couple of pretty elaborate single-shot sequences!

In the first, Mei's crossing the street and we can see Luke running to catch up from way across the street. A cop grabs her arm and brings her to the car, but Luke surprises them from the other side. He beats the crap out of both cops, taking the one guy's gun in the process, just as the russians pull up in their cars.

In the next shot he backs the cop car into the guy you can see running up in the rearview, who bounces over the car, over the front windshield. Luke buckles Mei's seatbelt, then drives forward into the same guy and you see him bounce over the windshield and then over the back of the car in the rearview. They drive away with the Russians chasing after them. One of the funniest things I've seen in a while, lol.

That scene was excellently planned and shot, with the camera panning to the rear-view mirror. The stunt men must have been bruised to hell after however many takes it took to get right.

Overall I thought it was a great movie, much better than I anticipated. Having so many groups involved (the russians, the chinese, the normal cops, the bad cops, statham, the mayor and his corrupt aide) can't have been easy to juggle in the script. Plus the cast were decent, and I will have to keep an eye out for Anson Mount as he was suprising, and not a little deadly.

I liked the first long fight scene in the train, especially Statham snapping the Russian hitmans' arm

Luke and his 5 former partner going to the chinese club where the safe is. Great scene!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

The last "fight" scene

*Spoilers ahead**

I thought Luke and Alex were going to go at each other and of course the hero gets beaten up and just as the villain is celebrating impending victory. BAM the man finds a last bit of strength and innovatively kills the bad guy. Instead the girl shoots the guy and saves the day. I am usually left wondering during fight scenes why the heroine/hostage/daughter/sister never seems to grab a weapon and help.

Also the scene in the train where he first sees Mei, me and my mate were laughing at how he never seems to get in the train on time. Man move a little faster and get in through the door lol !
