Ugh, Colin

He was so eye-roll-worthy the entire film. Can someone be 23 and THAT aw shucks naive?

The film was too Hollywood blaise for my taste, but I couldn't help being annoyed by Colin's character. He was so one-dimensional. He totally didn't deserve Lucy either.

Don't forget he was British, and this was the buttoned=up 1950s. Plus he probably hadn't yet come to terms with his sexuality.

maybe its a cultural thing? I thought part of Colin was authentic, very believeable he was a typical upper class young man of the time. I thought he was nice and a bit niaeve I liked the whole politics of the set unfolding and the honest way he tried to deal with it

"If you gentlemen dont mind I'd rather not spend the rest of this Winter tied to this beep chair"!

A lot of 23 year old are even more naive than that in my country. But I believe Americans become highly sexual and cynical at a very young age.
