Joe has a model of an imperial Twin Ion Engine Bomber hanging in his room. The movie takes place in 1979, the TIE bomber was first seen in The Empire Strikes Back, The Empire Strikes Back was relaesed in 1980. Is that a goof?

You know, I've watched this film many times and have never seen this, which begs the question of how many times you've seen it.

I have seen it once. It was one of the night scenes, maybe in the second half of the movie. I have an eye for all things Star Wars. Its a scale model (obviously) that hangs on a string from the celling.

Well, if you're sure about what you see then it must be a mistake - like the Rubik's Cube reference and about a dozen other things they messed up chronologically in this film.

shareNope - they had Star Wars toys for vehicles and characters out before the they appeared in the movie. I'm certain because I got got a Boba Fett toy for Christmas 1979, before Empire Strikes back.
