What is with JJ Abrams' odd, goofy, lame creature designs?

From the first Star Trek (reboot) film with some random creatures that just looked like they were fresh out of a horrible Survival Horror video game...to Super 8 with this...Alien?...to now Star Wars with those stupid looking spaghetti & meatball creatures I call them because it looks as if JJ Abrams drew a circle with lines around it on a napkin, and then decided to stick those ugly, DUMB SyFy channel-looking creatures IN A 10 MINUTE STAR WARS scene...I mean seriously it's one thing if you add them to Super 8, your OWN creation, you can do what you want with it, go ahead, HAVE A BALL...but then you add your silly lame design (the only awful design in the Star Wars movie btw...also the one with the most OBVIOUS cgi!) TO A STAR WARS FILM? Seriously f___ off right there.
Don't get me wrong, Star Wars was pretty good. and fun...but the design on those creatures was TERRIBLE. They'res a REASON you don't see creature designs like that too often, BECAUSE IT'S STUPID. That's something a child could conjur up in their minds in no time, but a FULL GROWN ADULT who know's the entire World is waiting for him to release THEIR Star Wars film they've been waiting for...and you have to add some goofy ass, ugly, absolutely lame creation like that to the iconic SAGA? Wow that annoys me I'm sorry.
Maybe if it was a quick scene, maybe if other creatures looked just as bad so it wasn't as distracting, but instead we have an almost perfect movie...with PLENTY of creatures with EXCELLENT designs, many using animatonics along with some cgi...but then for 10 MINUTES you gotta showcase spaghetti and meatballs? F___ YOU!!!
