Had this been made in the 80s/early 90s people would praise it
I mean, it has a strong female lead, humor, lots of gore (the director sure loves when the characters spit blood...), and the plot is ridiculous yet entertaining. Instant classic - had it been made 20+ years ago.
If you forget that the rest of the series is so different, this is really a great horror comedy in its own right.
