I am somewhat hoping we don't get lobstrosities in the first film...they would be better served by a bigger budget that a sequel would likely be granted.

Doesn't Roland interact w/ a Demon near a pond, willows, and standing stones and altar? Perhaps something to do with that scene over halfway thru the book. Remember a painting in the book of Roland gazing into the water. After he's taken the mescaline.
