Is Alex McGregor as Susan confirmed?

In light of the recent Wizard and Glass news, I'm assuming she will be Susan in both but i can't find a single article that confirms her that doesn't cite imdb as their reference. Actually, i can hardly find any bio at all on her???

I've been wondering this myself. I remember someone here posting about her being cast as Susan a few months back, and like you, I went on a search for more info and I couldn't really find anything either. It is kind of weird since the marketing people have been pretty good about announcing casting info so far, and given her significance to Roland, I'd think they would've released that info. But going by her post, it would seem so.

That being the case, I wonder if Alex will appear as she normally does or will she be wearing a blonde wig and gray contacts?

Odd isn't it!?

uh oh, i can see fresh casting debate on the horizon LOL

I wonder what her acting chops are like. I've never heard of her...

*If i were to speculate, maybe she was last minute casting as her role in TDT must be fairly minimal. Perhaps she was cast in Cape Town (where she lives and where half of TDT was filmed). Just to take a wild guess, Susan may end up on the cutting room floor in TDT and someone else will be cast in Wizard and Glass. She seems more model than actress looking at her twitter and i can't imagine they'd take a chance on someone B grade for a role like Susan's. Of course i should actually watch some of her work first before saying that.

...I wouldn't be surprised. I guess we'll have to wait and see if the pitchforks and torches will make an appearance for that one.

Neither have I. Unless we search out her previous roles (a few TV shows and movies, I think), I guess the majority of us will find out when the Dark Tower TV show premieres since she'll have a prominent role.

When I looked her up after hearing about the casting, I do remember that she's from Cape Town, so that's certainly possible. But if I can find the time in between the crazy number of other TV shows I'm watching, I might see if I can check out some of her previous work.

Well they chose a b grade actor for Roland, so a b grade actress for Susan wouldn't be surprising.

Now, every time you post, I am starting to imagine the B-movie Frankenstein's monster making his unintentionally funny grunts/groans which are supposed to sound angry.

No content: simply noise .

Don't think we have to worry about contacts or hair color. I'm pretty sure she will be a flashback/vision burnt up real good

reply

But will the fire be the correct color ?

Are you still pretending you don't care about a character's race with this dopey remark, do I need to point out how full of sh*t you are again hypocrite?

reply

I imagine much worse when reading your posts than that. So I honestly couldn't care less how you see me.
Frankly if a braindead, hypocritical social justice moron like yourself liked me I'd probably have to hate myself.

I'd probably have to hate myself.

You already do.

Wrong again. I do however hate social justice morons like you.

In the script I read she appears in flashback form briefly.

reply

C'mon, dude. Not everyone has read or wants to read the script(s) .

Lol, sorry!

In the script I read, a giant Spider198 gets hit by a bus.

That's pretty much what I figured. From what I've read, they're either going to give hints or show us outright how much Roland has lost during his journey, and as we all know, her death was a huge blow to him. Therefore, Susan appearing in flashbacks makes sense. (FWIW, I still refuse to read the script, though lol.)

reply

If you don't mind, could you please give me your opinion based on the script you read if Susan can be safely cut from TDT without it affecting the continuity of other scenes/requiring substantial rewrites/etc? I'm just really curious if they will keep her on as Susan in the tv series as she seems to work exclusively in Cape Town only and her body of work seems a bit 'meh' imo. (with a spoiler warning of course) :)

reply

I hope not. It should be naoimi harris

reply

I think you might be getting Susan (Roland's first love) confused with Susannah (member of Roland's ka-tet); this thread is about the former. However, I do think Naomie Harris would make a great Susannah.

reply

Totally did :)
