I must admit the trailer makes it look decent....until the end when he slams himself into the floor after failing to dunk.
Given Kevin James' comic repertoire ("im a fat guy but i have a good heart and.... ooh....food"), I'm pretty sure this will wind up being lame.
Which is a shame....James could probably pull off a serious role.

I think they are trying for a "feel good comedy." Not sure if it will work, but we will see. James has been a fan of MMA for a long time, so I have hope he will do a good job.

Dude, there already IS a serious version of this . . . it's called "Warrior" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1291584/), and it's actually quite a good film.

It's a comedy because of Kevin James.A serious MMA film,just doesn't work at the box office.I hate to say it,but it's true.They have tried every angle to get people into the theaters to see these types of films and it just isn't working.But,doing it this way with Kevin James and making it a comedy,it will do okay.Warrior,which was supposed to be the Rocky of MMA movies,didn't do well at all.Critics liked it,but the public didn't make it the smash hit at the box office that the people behind the film were hoping for.I mean they even tried to use it in the teenage audience bracket with Never Back Down,and even that failed too.
