Perfect movie for Americans

It will re-affirm that all east Indian men wear colourful and loose fitting V-neck shirts and all Indian women wear sarees and dance. Yoga is a daily activity and no one from India understands how an elevator door sensor works. Luckily, the ruggedly handsome white man is around to take them out of the gutters of India and propel them into being amazing at the quintessential American sport of baseball.

It's a Disney film made for Americans. What do you think?

Have India make their own version, converting an American baseball player into a Cricket star.

I'd see that!

That actually sounds amazing. I'd watch it. It'd be plausible for someone who looks to be stuck in A-ball or AA for their entire career to make the switch and play in the IPL or something, where they'd frankly be doing better financially.

I wonder if batters are a better option for a transition either way than pitchers. Bowling and pitching, having played both sports for recreation, are pretty different. I mean, batting in the two sports is too, but I suspect baseball hitters could hit boundaries off mediocre bowlers. The other way around might be harder.

I guarantee that this movie was not made to insult anyone. You make it seem that is the only thing it is trying to accomplish. A movie only has one goal

You are correct. I shall watch it and likely pay to do so.

The OP has a point though. This is an "overcoming the odds" sports story with the white sports agent as the main character instead of the Indian athletes themselves. It's like telling the story of Jackie Robinson with Branch Rickey as the main character. They only did this because the white agent is instantly identifiable with the majority of American audiences and more people would be willing to see the movie, not because it actually fit the story better.

This was hilarious. Because it's true.
