Cricket and baseball are like apples and pears.

And what I mean by that is the two maybe sports which use bats balls innings and a few other commonalities but that is where the similarities end thus the skills are not transferable, I can't possible see how a good cricketer would make a good baseball player, the sports are just so different and require a totally different type of athlete.

For example the best batsman in international cricket Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are both around 5'9" and 170bls,a size unheard of compared to top MLB batsman, likewise top blowers (cricket) are usually the biggest players on the pitch and would compare in size to their MLB counterparts but the technique used to bowl and pitch are completely different and don't compare at all.

If this is a true story it is a far fetched one at that, having said that i would like to see how this film turns out..being that I'm a huge cricket fan.

Well judging by the title they aren't looking for a hitter haha. Sounds like they will be looking for a pitcher, which would still be weird being how there are literally millions of people to choose from in America let alone the other top countries, why they'd try to change sport for someone is kinda weird.

Because Indian pitchers will do it for a quarter of the price. That million-dollar arm will only cost Mr. Mad Men $250,000.

Not just the price of the individual player, but if you could get an Indian baseball star, it would create a baseball phenomenon in the second(?) most populated country on the planet. The potential talent pool you would create would be so deep, it would be like all those analogies about the polar ice caps melting and covering the earth in water. That's how deep you would be swimming in talent.

Not to mention, if you make baseball popular in India that brings billions of t-shirts, hats, jerseys, gloves, bats, balls, etc.

This is a true story, look it up. Rinku Singh still pitches in the minors (he missed last year with an injury)for the Pirates. They had a reality TV show contest in India to see who could throw the hardest fastball and went from there.

I disagree. Batting in both games requires timing and a good eye as well as power. Fast bowling and pitching require a great deal of core strength. Cricket has adapted many fielding techniques from baseball. Perhaps baseball players might learn to catch with their bare hands one day? When baseball was a winter sport in Australia many top cricketers played it. The Chappell brothers and their grandfather Victor Richardson were all excellent baseball players. Who knows how far they (and others) might have gone if baseball had been the dominant sport in Australia?

you are wrong. they are batsman and for batsman size do not matter nor their look. example: other day 'panda' sanfrancisco, all mexican origin players etc ( ramirez etc are similar height). The fast bowlers from west indies are quite sturdy as baseball players. 6 ft 7, 210 pounds are common( they run a lot hence thinner). baseball pitchers hardly run hence more weight( they need more power in the shoulder and arm)

and to set the matter straight cricket was more popular than baseball in the beginning in usa. It is after first world war it popularity fell off the radar( when migration from europe increased rapidly in the phili and new york area). Baseball with simpler rules was easily picked up and cricket faded away eventually in usa.
