Should have found two batters!

If JB really wanted to get India behind MLB he should have looked for two batters not two pitchers.

When India plays cricket in Australia, millions of Indians wake up early in the morning and anxiously watch the toss. If India bats first, they stay up and live and die by their team's fortunes. If India has to bowl first, they go back to bed. In India, it's the batsmen who are idolised.

If two Indian batsmen became hitters in the MLB, the prospect of a HUGE market opening up is a genuine possibility.

Also, it has to be said that a man who can hit a cricket ball can probably hit a baseball. Yes, the trajectory of the ball is different as is the hitting technique, but the hand/ eye co-ordination skills are the same. With training, most cricket batsman can transition to baseball hitters and I am sure the same is true in reverse.

He didn't care about getting India behind baseball. He was thinking outside the box and thought he could get some pitchers to look good and get signed, so he gets his percentage. Wanted to get them a lot of interest. Hoped theyd become stars and it would pay off.

Also, you think he's going to pick out some people from India and have them impress scouts right away as hitters? LOL. Do you know anything about baseball? You know you don't just hit and need to field a position too. Ridiculous to think they could get hitters off the street to do anything but not look absolutely terrible.

Getting two batters in the MBL is no less fanciful than getting two pitchers...which is what JB actually tried to do. Okay, they didn't make the Majors, but the experiment was moderately successful.

All I am saying is that the prospects were better if he went looking for two batters and the experiment would have resonated in India a lot more.

And...do you know anything about cricket?

Batsmen in cricket have to field a position too. The transition from being a skilled cricket batsman to a baseball hitter would not be very difficult, nor would learning to field with a glove.

And before we get into a debate about which sport requires greater skill, I repeat that I'm sure somebody skilled in baseball could make the transition to cricket as well.

Anyway, I suggest you YouTube `Sachin Tendulkar' or `Virat Kohli' and then come back to me if you honestly think those guys couldn't hit a baseball or take a position on first base or in the outfield.
