She can't act. Yes I know she either got or was up for an Academy Award. She's awful. Her "British" accent made me want to vomit in the trailer. And she's fugly.

I was skeptical of Hailee but it looks like she may not be bad in this. She'll probably be over praised though, just because it's Shakespeare and if an actor can get the words out it impresses enough, with only a minority really understanding it all. It is a bit disconcerting to think that to get into character while reciting romantic Shakesperean prose she was probably thinking about Justin Beiber however. :/

No reason why an American actress can't nail Juliet, especially a good one, like Hailee. Claire Danes did.
There's a much bigger pool of young American actresses as most English actresses don't get their break until they finish drama school.

Another thing: this is supposed to take place in Italy so if they're not speaking Italian they should be speaking with Italian accents. It's sort of like saying if an American wrote a story that takes place in England with English characters, all those characters should speak with an American accent.
