They should've just re-shown Zefferelli's version in theatres instead.


This film was just a poor man's Zefferell's version with too-rich cinematography, as if they're trying to have the audience focus on beautiful background details rather than on the actual actors themselves.
Romeo was OK.
Juliet was terrible. Especially that balcony speech.... *shudders*

Love that version! I'm only in my thirties and claim it as the ultimate version. I totally agree. Can't believe Hussey & Whitig were the exact ages they were suppose to be.
