It's actually quite pretty.

I'm a 32 year old woman who first studied the play at 12 years old in school and fell instantly in love with it. I watched Zefferelli's version, which is still my favourite, then I watched the 1996 Luhrmann offering, and then I sought out the 1978 BBC version. I love all three for very different reasons.

This version, I first saw a few months ago. In regards to faithfulness to the play, it stinks to high heaven, with only small sections of Shakespeare's beautiful verse saved, and most of the dialogue entirely fabricated.

However, I do really like this version. It's very different, the setting is beautiful and the leads are both good looking, competent actors. Not in Hussey and Whiting's league but I still found it very enjoyable to watch.
