Nudity or not.
So I'm too lazy to look up another site and what I already read was inconclusive. My question is, is there going to be Hailee Steinfeld nudity and how much? This subject I imagine sparks some controversy.

shareThere is no reason for nudity to tell a story. The people watching KNOW what is going on. Even actors know this.
The only reason they show their bodies is A, because they want to and are a bit exhibitionist, or B, because hollywood pressures women to do so (as MOST nudity is female in nature)... Hollywood does it to "sell sex" or for "shock value"... even in strip club scenes, etc... it's not needed. Bikini's and thongs still serve the purpose without needing to expose an actress/ actor for everyone to gawk.
Most people do NOT look at it and see it as "art"... they want to ogle a body, especially since it's not often PRESENTED as "art"... it's presented as "sex"... To suggest that an audience can look at it being presented in the most "desirable way" in a "sexual" setting and only see it as "art" and not think sexually of it is ridiculous. Unless it's a scene involving the holocaust, or dead bodies or something.
Think of some of the best movies from sixty-seventy years ago. They didn't contain nudity, and if they did, it was rare.
It is not needed.
Why are you taking the sexuality out of art?
Old movies didn't have nudity because of pressure from conservative Christians and various other prudes and sex negative people.
We've made a lot of progress since then.

This is for the people who feel 16 is to young. The legal age of consent in the US is 18 in only 10 states, 17 in about 10 states, but is 16 in the remaining 30 or so. Therefor for the most part the age of consent would be 16 in USA.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America
It is also 16 in most 1st world countries. So there is nothing wrong with anyone, regardless of age, looking at a 16 year old in a sexual manner. It cracks me up how Americans still think of 16 year old's as children given the age of consent in America and most of the rest of the world.
Now I will concede that there are stipulations to the 16 age of consent in some of those states but for the most part, once a person is 16, statutory rape goes away.
And before anyone says anything I have a 14 year old daughter and still feel 16 is an appropriate age for men or women to make that decision whether its with an older person or not.
I get what your saying but we are not talking about the age of consent here, where talking about naked pictures or video of children. Nudity in England where I come from is the same age as the age of consent so over here it does not matter but even in America yes in some states a girl of 16 can have sex but I do believe the laws are either the older must be within 4/5 years of the 16 year olds age or have Romeo and Juliet laws which are if they both dated when under 18 (or what their age limits are) even if one of them has turned 18 or even a bit older then there is no crime committed and are free to date/ have sex.
I'm sure you wouldn't agree that at 16 your daughter should be having sex with a 25/30 year old man. As though her body may be maturing her mind is still not mature enough for it. If they where both 16 that would be different.
-----
Some one earlier posted about this bit so it's not a reply to you but I can't be bothered finding it and replying ----
Anyone stating a girls body has finished maturing at age 16 is demented, but not only that her mind isn't emotionally mature enough to be handling the situation anyway. But at age 16 I was a size 10 (this is England so it's quite thin, for those Americans) and size 34c breasts, now I'm 31 and a size 12 and size 34e breasts. I've never gained any real weight except filling out normally in a womanly way, hips and breasts and such. I haven't had any kids so no body changes there. I actually only bumped up to an E this past year. So no our bodies are not fully mature at age 16, if it was I would be quite unhappy with my lack of figure. I'd rather look like a woman than a child.
Also someone else mentioned any man or woman who isn't attracted to a 16 year old is lying. I call BULL on that one, under no circumstance do I look at a kid and think oh I want me some of that. I've had young guys hit on me and I've said No your a baby, I think it's disgusting. I Have never been attracted to anyone who doesn't look like a grown ass man. People younger than me talking about Zac Efron or Justin Bieber and that just knocks me sick, even now they are still children to me. So don't try to play that game.

But see that's where we differ and truthfully its a matter of opinion. While I may not wish my daughter to have sex with a 25 or 30 year old I still respect her right to do so as I think a 16 year old is emotionally mature enough to make that decision. At least my daughter is now at 16 btw. I don't have any problem with people having sex as long as they do it with protection.
Now I do agree that not all kids are fully mature body wise at 16 but so what? If a woman or man is still developing at 16 what is the difference between having sex with another 16 year old or a 25 year old? Now while I wouldn't go for a woman under 35 (I'm 46) that doesn't mean it's not OK for others to do so and it also doesn't mean I can't appreciate how beautiful a 16 year old looks. Would I have a problem with my daughter dating dating a man my age. Yes, but not because of the sex. Mostly I'd have a problem understanding what the man has in common with a 16 year old. Is he using her till she's older and he wouldn't like her anymore? Things like that. If it was a one night stand because my daughter was curious so be it. I am very liberal when it comes to nudity and sex. I don't treat my daughter any different that I treated my son. He is 20 now.
As far as what age is appropriate for nudity in movies and tv shows I don't have a problem with England's rules. My stance is this. If it is a sexual situation then 16, otherwise if its just getting out of the tub I don't really have an age limit but if younger than 16 you should need parental consent.
I know you don't agree with and possibly won't understand my view but that's why we all have our own opinions. I don't fault you for yours. It's just as valid as mine. And how we raise our kids is also personal preference. While I do have an issue with how much the US tries to shelter children for supposed naughtiness I don't have a problem with people having their own opinion. My initial post's primary objective was to be informative on the actual law in America not to bash the poster for their opinion. I apologize if it came off as the latter. Also I am American if that makes any difference of how you view my opinion. I would rather the censorship in this country focused more on violence than on nudity. Nudity doesn't hurt people. Violence does. Yes I know there are situations where if a naked photo gets out of a 16 year old its terrible for her here but you know what I mean.
Looking forward to your reply if you choose to do so.
No nudity. Director chickened out after the hens on The View freaked out to raise ratings.
