I tried looking for English subtitles for this segment, but does anyone know what Columba Ramos was saying during her interview? It was about 74 minutes into the film, during the discussion of the foreclosure crisis.
I saw the documentary 2 days ago, I'm a spanish native speaker, but I can't recall exactly word by word what she said.
I know this is a very late response, but she and her husband were "ripped-off" by their real estate agent, because neither of them spoke english (odd, how they can work in an english speaking country, not knowing the language?), and they lose their home. They had 3 childrens and the real estate agent told them the house cost was about US$3.000 (I don't know how many payments) but the first fee payment (sp?) was for more than US$5.000, and they couldn't afford that.
Hope it helps.
Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language
So you are saying they wanted a house which needed a payment close to 3k per month instead they were supposed to pay almost 6k per month? I am confused. Pls explain.

Most likely adjustable mortgage rates which the agent had not informed them about.
