This show is so full of *beep* it's unbelievable... and to think that people take this seriously is hilarious and scary at the same time.

And to think that some people prefer to believe in...

An all powerful being who could create the heavens and the Earth at approximately "5000" BC in just seven days, with a snap of his fingers, who still needs to ride fiery chariots to descend from heaven after that... to visit Humans that could suddenly build the most advanced complex megalithic stone structures ever, with their bare hands, only moments after stepping out of their caves. (Without any actual proof of course this happened)

Instead of believing that either...

1.) Advance Aliens came to Earth in our past, and took their goodies with them... Or...
2.) Mankind existed on this planet for thousands of years before the last ice age and developed advanced technologies, and created advanced complex megalithic stone structures that have been dated to exist BEFORE "5000" BC.... only to get nearly destroyed during the last ice age, and all evidence and knowledge of them was buried under ICE, WATER, or SAND... And the rest of the humans who survived were forced to start all over again, living on top of the ruins of the first human civilization.

Now, what is really "unbelievable" here?

By The Way, I find your posting absolutely hilarious, that you did not provide any evidence that the show is actually full of *beep*. I don't think too many will switching sides of what is actually "believable", because of it.

wait what?? how did god come into this? i am an atheist btw and i wasn't even a christian to begin with so don't just automatically pull that 5000 BC crap with everyone.

This show is not far from religious myths btw in that it is intellectually dishonest to the extreme. It takes real observations and then ludicrously infers some ancient alien crap from it. I mean, just take the example of the mayan apocalypse episode: those hacks were so certain that the world is going to end in 2012 because the mayans were given some inside info by ancient aliens about the apocalypse, it was funny and bewildering at the same time. Did they apologize for that later? oops, no alien info, just some lazy people who were tired of making the calendar for the future. No. Every episode they come up with some harebrained argument pulling aliens into stuff they have no business in being. Just a cursory wikipedia research will clear your doubts about any topic they come up with. So yes, you are one those idiots who believe their babble and this is what scares me. Thank you for proving my op.

and what kind of idiotic pseudo-scientific nonsense are you coming up with here? complex megalithic stone structures? us living on the ruins of an ancient advanced civilization? give me a break!

For your knowledge, the last ice age ended in 10,000 BC and this is when our ancestors started moving out of caves into the grasslands and human civilization began. Before that, there was no civilization whatsoever. No archaeological evidence for that at all. when we have found dinosaurs buried 100 million years ago, we would also have found some your ancient advanced civilizations too. But we didn't, so stop your wishful thinking and accept reality. And read up on it a bit more before forming opinions.

Just curious whether you see the irony of that comment coming from someone who suggests that others do their research on Wikipedia.

What I said was "just a cursory glance of wikipedia is also enough to dispel these theories". If you want to read scientific publications, you have my respect, but getting information from wikipedia is still much better than getting it from the history channel.

I'd have to respond "All of the above."

Timmie, if you don't bring that rocketship back this instant, you'll get the spanking of your life!

btw, just saying/asking; are you aware that the thread title has changed and youve taken it along with your new posts :)
I doubt you agree with the change, so i thought id point it out.

reply

yes I am aware & I don't care.

Scary? I'm not sure the people who take this show serious warrants that emotion. Hilarious is also condescending but whatever makes you feel better about yourself. There are other things out there people are passionate about that are legitimately worrisome. I guess I didn't know those who believe in UFOs are so dangerous. Dangerous enough to be scared of them anyways.

Well i dont know.
I know a few people who believe in ghosts, and it is always a weird and touchy subject.
They sometimes cant stop talking about it, and other times they act aloof about it, which just looks weird to me.
Often times, they believe in the spiritual too, so to them it is all connected and logical, but getting it to words and data is impossible, to them and science in general, which does not help me getting more appreciation or understanding of the whole concept.

I like to think that there is more going on, but im just not feeling it the same way as they do.
To me its much more tangible and logical, there is no need to be all mysterious about it.

But thats the thing, people love the mysterious, so do i, but i want to explain it, not to dwell on its mysteriousness and keeping away from wanting an explanation.
People that believe in ghosts tell me that im too sober to be susceptible for it, yeah.. ok, but when they feel good and have their stuff sorted, you wont hear them about ghosts either.
To me, it just feels like whenever theyre in a bad situation, they prefer to be connected to ghosts, almost like invisible friends, like a last resort for people who turn to religion, or other things that are not there (officially, scientifically).

So in that way, i think it is a bit scary that people want to escape into things that i find a bit unrealistic, it makes me wonder what their opinion is about other things that we might disagree on, altogether possibly forming a whole different view on life that can clash with each other.
As seen how easy random discussions on the internet escalate, it is kinda scary how different people are, that a rational discussion is out of the window from the start.

But i do agree, laughing is pretty condescending, but honestly, if i were to sit next to someone else, and a person tells us that Aliens have built the pyramids and the guy next to me says:"really? Wow that is awesome!", then i would have trouble at keeping in my laugh, because, yeah i would not just believe it without questioning it.
There has to be some logical deduction going on before you can convince me, and so far, Ancient Aliens has not convinced me.
