Is the popularity of this show proof that

Is the popularity of this show a testament of how incredibly stupid Americans are???

Also, why are a great majority of their 'experts' science fiction authors or just authors in general and not actual scientist?

You do not show that you understand the scientific method. Simple.

You DO show that you are only here to try to mock/ridicule/discredit/and/or/dismiss people who don't share your viewpoint.

Night did a great bit on satire on this part of the American Beauty with his classroom scene in The Happening where the teach is bucking the American "education" system and trying to get American kids to THINK.

But they preferred to kill themselves

No he didn't. Do you even know what "you answered your own question" means you dickface?

He asked a question. He didn't answer it in the ranty way that people sometimes do when they're asking the question to preach. He just asked a question. Just a question. It included a possibility of the answer.

Who were you replying to?

reply

IMO alot of people "Want To Believe", and AA feeds this interest.

reply

There are many more popular shows on television that show the ignorance of people than this one.

reply

In defense of my country, a lot (most?) of the 'ancient alien theorists' are non-Americans, so the theory obviously has world-wide appeal.

reply

No. The testament that proved how stupid the American people are happened when young men actually left home and went to fight in WW I.

Compared to the endless "Real Housewives" shows as well as all the other "reality" shows? This show is a masterpiece, lol.

Ancient Aliens theory is worldwide, Erich von Däniken's books have been published in over 30 languages. Chariots of the Gods sold well in West Germany, the film was a box office success (made over $20 million in the 1970s, around $150 million in today's dollar).

Look into the ratings, when on the H2 channel Ancient Aliens doesn't make the Nielsen ratings release for Friday nights, that means less than 1 million people watch; the only ratings for a H2 Friday airing I could find were for March 7, 2014 and that was 482,000 viewers (don't know if it was a rerun or not).
On the history channel it will draw more, Iirc it drew between 1.5-2 million on back when it was originally on the History channel, but that still isn't many viewers; after all, there are about 320 million people in the US. A lot of dumb shows draw similar numbers, why? Because people watch dumb *beep* which also explains why infomercials exist.

reply

If the numbers are so low, doesn't that mean the OP was simply pulling that "if AA is so popular" stuff out of his/her @$$...meaning the rest of the OP and anyone who agreed with what it suggested should be similarly dismissed?

reply

If it's not popular then I wish the History Channel would stop running marathons of AA and Pawn Stars every day.

Two shows that were fun to watch for a couple years and now that they totally suck they dominate the 2 History channels. Well, Pawn Dorks more than AA, which is fortunate as H2 is the better channel. For now....

It's a testament "to" (learn to use the word. you just showed you're no more intelligent than the people you're trying to insult) the stupidity of people in general.

Americans are a subset of people that aren't exempt.

Your reaction is a testament to how no matter how far our culture comes along and rationality breaches further into instinct, there are still little hippies like you that are pure emotion and devoid of intellect.

It has been statistically proven that people who become upset over a persons grammar on a public forum get little to no sex or have little to no social life. So, which category to do fall under?
