Although I'm by no means complete with book, does anyone else think that the "creative minda" behind Terra Nove happened to read AMCL?

Possibly, it did cross my mind.
But a many colored land was post ice-age, its people were eccentrics and exiles, and its antagonists were aliens... so not that similar.
There have been a LOT of stories about people trying to survive amidst dinosaurs, after all.
