With some other cancelled shows, the people who created it announce what the story was and explain it, has anyone done so for this? It seems like it was starting to finally build a deceny mystery, just took too long to do it.

it seems like there must have been at least one accidental natural rift sometime in the 18th century that sucked through a boat. Im guessing they were going to down the "Bermuda triangle explained" path and have a little civilization of people that had come through 300 years earlier and made a life for themselves - dinotopia style maybe?

It feels like they were going for a "Land of the Lost" kind of vibe, where rifts in time were populating Terra Nova with all sorts of historical characters. That's just my guess though.
