The co-existence of dinosaurs and humans

Even the idea of Humans and dinosaurs living together seemed like a rather interesting concept but I wonder if it might have been possible that the humans who were send back into the past to save Earth's future might have perished eventually when the comet killed off the dinosaurs or by some other causes.

reply

Well, they did have millions of years to come up with a way to survive the meteor, not comet.

Meteors are just asteroids that fall to earth. The only difference between a comet and an asteroid is different materials stored in it. We differentiate between them because comets often loose mass when they fly by the sun due to being mostly made up of gas. however in an event of inpact into earth they would both hurt as much assuming same mass.

there was less gravity and much more oxygen in the air, im told back then-which allowed the dinos to grow so large...how would that have affected the humans-also could the dinos or humans have had diseases that could have wiped one the other or both out?

reply

As seen in the pilot, not every human could immediately deal with the much more Oxygene rich air. They collapsed and went in to hyperventilation and if not treated, they obviously could die, judge by how fast the doctors came to the aid and helped those who collapsed who just came from the future.

Germs. A dinosaur is mostly considered to be cold blooded, that means reptile. This means that they might carry things like viruses, bacteria, protozoa, helminths, and arthropods who can make humans sick, just like reptiles today can make humans sick if they are not treated.
That is also one of the reasons why they are so strict to wards those people, who try to smuggle reptiles thrue customs from all sorts of exotic places.

But i must admit, that i dont know if there are any deceases that can be transfered from a human to a reptile.

if there was less gravity it was almost the same. Not like lunar gravity or anything. Nobody is sure how dinosaurs could get so large without the issues we imagine they should have. There have been many solutions proposed, but we know for sure that less gravity wasn't the answer.

You call that a cameltoe? Put your cheeks into it!

there was less gravity...

We've gone from caveman to the space age in under a quarter of a million years.

They have 20 million years before the KT Event.
I'm sure they'll think of something.

They'll likely have advanced to Star Trek like technology levels and left the Earth millions of years before the impact, meanwhile their ancestors will survive as the furry little burrowing mammals they are at the time.

Creationists believe humans and dinos existed together and were killed off by Noah's flood. Many dino bones are found with dogs, birds, possoms & jellyfish in the same site which could explain a great flood wiping out life on the planet.

... End of line.

reply

Or, more likely, a flood moving the bones around so they get out of their original geologic layers.
