Does anyone know whether the champagne glass was ment to break in the scene where she puts it on the piano or not?

I was wondering the same thing. It looked like she stayed in character except for a short beat. I'd love to know.

It looked very deliberate to me, like, "Oh great, we're broke, my husband snores and now this isn't even a real champagne glass!"

Probably something the actor/director improvised on the spot.

Because it doesn't rain, but it pours, ya know?
