Laya, I got to your post because I follow Karan Johar on Facebook and he went to see Udaan today. He said: "Finally saw UDAAN!! Absolutely brilliant...vikram aditya motwane make a dazzling debut aided by a fabulous cast...ronit roy is a revelation!" I went to imdb to check this out and realized I had read about the film a couple times in the last few months.
I read your review. Thank you! Very descriptive and enticing. I'll probably have to wait awhile, even a year, to see it here in the US. Hope it'll be released on DVD with English subtitles.

Yes, Udaan is a movie worth checking out, but as is so often the case with obscure, arthouse films... you might have trouble getting it. However, since the film did screen at Cannes and Anurag Kashyap is renowned for nice international distribution, I am pretty sure that if nothing else, the film will come out on DVD and have nice English subtitles (they must've been needed at Cannes)
And when it does come out on DVD, some site like Amazon or eBay will surely have it, so you can get it from there :)
