Should air on TNT

With a repeat of Conan airing right now on TNT following a rebroadcast of the NBA playoffs, it got me thinking. Even though TBS focuses on comedy ("Very Funny") and TNT, I'm guessing, still focuses on drama (I don't really watch TNT that much), I think Conan would do better in the ratings if the show moved to TNT. TBS has nothing to lead into the show besides Family Guy and Big Bang Theory reruns (don't get me started on their original programming), while TNT has the NBA and other sports to promote Conan better to the male demographic. Overall, TNT seems like the much better network; TBS in general seems like a cut-rate Comedy Central channel, except without the edgy programming.

Family Guy and the Big Bang Theory are current series that do great in syndication. A move to TNT isn't justified. Also, TBS is one of the original cable networks, and has a stronger brand. They likely get better sponsorship deals.

Everything you said is true. I just thought TNT would be a better fit because their original programming seems pretty decent, at least compared to TBS. TNT has shows like Falling Skies and Rissoli and Isles, while TBS has almost nothing in the original programming department. If the powers that be at Turner put some effort into TNT, they could make it more of a competitor to AMC and FX, in my opinion, and Conan would be one of the shows anchoring it.

I'm an internet watcher, so I don't really care. I watch his show on his website, and I even let the ads play (i'm so nice).

Good point. I guess I didn't take into account all the online viewers.

Well, it's still worrisome a bit because if he doesn't do well on TV, then there'd be no internet show. If anything were to happen, he'd probably keep up with the serious jibber-jabber interviews (which I haven't watched). However, teamcoco is a very smart website/brand name because it isn't necessarily affiliated with his show.

The problem with TNT is, while the NBA would be a great lead in, the games sometimes run late, so it would push Conan back to a random time and hurt viewership. But I think TNT would be better, but not sure if it would make much of a difference.

I wonder how Conan would do on Comedy Central if The Daily Show and The Nightly show both get cancelled.
