...Well NOT ALL of them, but MOST of them. They're rude, slovenly, disrespectful and they smell. The other day some punk on a skateboard darted in front of my car when I honked all I got was a smart ass comment. Or when I went to the movies last week I got a whole herd of them behind me talking DURING the movie, even after telling them to be quiet numerous times. I know you're thinking "adults are just as bad sometimes" No! Parents need to beat their children with coat hangers more often.....
I've met some nice kids, but the majority of which are sadly, unpalatable. The generation proceeding mine is going to have it's troubles, and makes me sad. But I will call them on it...
You do know your parents said the same thing about YOUR generation right? And your grandparents before them, and great-grandparents before them, etc. Have fun walking around 'calling' every teen you see on being dumb, you're gonna have your hands full 24/7 my friend.
Just like you did, they eventually wisen up, then go on to denounce the next generation as worse than theirs. Nothing new here. But back on topic, this movie sucks real bad. It wasn't funny, straight up where were the jokes? It's like a random teens birthday party until the last 15 mins or so, the rest was just like watching a lame home movie for 75 minutes...
"dude i dont care i just love this movie you guys have a realy taste in movies what wrong with you"
I agree completely, this is exactly how it has gone, except that every generation has a point. Teens have been getting worse. Just look at the statistics. While it's nothing new to point this out, that doesn't make it acceptable to allow it to continue to spiral out of control. The problem lies in socio-cultural change, and is in desperate need of a resolution.
My generation is going to have problems? Yeah, maybe the trillions and trillions of dollars in debt we are going to have placed on us.. Don't act like your generation is anything special because when it comes down to it every single generation has problems that are pretty much the same.. Take a second and put yourself in somebody else's shoes..
"I'm not perfect, but at least I can pretend to be"
you made a strong argument here. in economics it is called the life cycle theory of consumption and saving, or alternatively as intertemporal decision-making behavior in adults. this is in response to your idea about debts of our generation we have today (but also relevant to the problem of current economic issues in greece and other capitalistic countries is EU), although the movie is about the best high school party. also i note that in high school i invited 20-like persons in my apartment to have a party but i never went to tell this to my neighbours, like in the movie they did. i don't have a pool or a backyard but also my neigbours are not across the street but merely 5 meters apart, it is an apartment building. but it was good and a good memory with 20 people packed in just 30 square meters all night. of course then i invited only people that i knew dislike in the movie, but nevertheless the movie is great.
bad parenting.. give me a break, the youths have always been arrogant and disrespectful (although not to the level they are at today) but you can't seriously believe beating your kids would solve jack *beep* not in this day and age, and not in the past neither.
I'll break it down for you real simple since I don't want to be stuck here writing for the next 24hours.
Human beings are a result of influences and genes (by the way if you're a religious person reading this, don't bother to comment on it, this isn't for you because that's a whole other discussion) And if I were to guess somewhere around 80-90% of that influence comes from the world around a kid, not the 4walls in which he sleeps, showers, *beep* and eat. It's not the parents fault kids are less respectful etc then your own generation whenever that may be, its the world we live in, the media, the things that drops the most influence on todays youth. I was born in 1990 so I don't really know how the social world worked before the internet, but I do know that internet changed it completely, that's what my generation is struggling with seeing as it is the first generation to ever having had to handle such a massive thing. Soon as we fire up our computers we're hooked up to the entire world. And that's a *beep* of influence.
But the solution is never to restrict or beat anyone, if you want positive change you have to make it yourself, and you can only create positive change by inspiration. You can create change otherwise, but rarely if ever at all in a positive manner. Best case scenario you solve one problem by replacing it with another.
But if you don't believe I know what I'm talking about that's fine cause I'm pretty sure I don't either, but I know I'm onto something at least, because I can feel I am, and because the concept of what I'm saying is supported by inspirational figures that lives in our history books, every man of peace supports it.
But please don't believe you can understand this good enough to take actions against it based on fear and violence.. How could you understand this good enough for that? How could anyone? The smallest of details in the human mind and/or behavior is enough to turn the entire picture around and into something else, this I know for a fact. You can't say you have all the details, nobody can.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this movie and actually thought that for the past 5-10 years that teens today are basically dumb for the most part, spend all their time texting, on internet, hanging out at coffee houses, can't carry on a conversation, and can't spell anymore! Figured they can't have parties at their parents house while they're gone anymore like the 80's and 90's and are always being guarded or looked after
no disrespect or anything, but you were a teen once and Im sure you know teens that are rude but thats only because adults are treating teens like kids because they think we are crazy or something but not all teens are crazy. Majority of teens are nothing like the teenagers you saw in Project X, its an exaggeration of how teens can be. There was adults in the movie too drinking and having a good time but no-one seems to say anything about that.
I only saw a little part, I couldn't bear to watch more, as it was too painful. I love (sacrasm) the part when the teen at the end talks about all the distruction and pain he caused everybody else, especially his parents, and then goes on to say "all I care about is this".
What a POS selfish SOB. What is so frightening is that teens are watching this movie and being influenced by it. When I'm old, these guys will be in charge. That scares the blank out of me. How does the old saying go..."garbage in garbage out".
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
How is he a POS for that? He's obviously aware that he's screwed for a large portion of his life, so he might as well start fixing a key relationship in his life to make things at least a little better.
If you didn't act like a teenager back then... maybe you envy those you see, because there are other kind of teenagers, but you just don't care about them.
I wasn't the kind you hate, I DID "hate" them too when I had to REALLY have them as a part of my live, but your kind of adults never cared about my kind of teens. It was better to repress the others to have they hate for you... on me.
Jesus! It is true that every generation does the same. I hope I'm not becoming one of those monsters.
You have to realise that you aren't going to notice the softly spoken, mild mannered teens. You notice these brutes because they are loud and obnoxious. You can't help but notice them. As a teen I would actually get a lot of attitude from "grown ups" who would abuse their so called authority. Next time a teen holds a door open for you don't forget to say thanks, and when they say thank you, tell them they are most welcome. Unfortunately you can't beat the raucous ones, but you can encourage the good.
I am not a teenager, and this is a completely irrelevant thread. ...unless of course you're talking about the teenagers in this film. You should provide some examples when making statements like this. Until then you're just kind of an idiot.
