Sorry blbbg1, but no Sixth Sense review.

I wasn't waiting, I was just sitting and breathing. Got a problem with that?

I really wanted to see him open with a review of that film.

I loved this review; easily my favorite of the past several months.

Personally I feel Matthew Buck's review of it was better, surprisingly. :P

I agree, Doug's review felt more nitpicky and subjective than FilmBrain's.

reply

Plus Doug just didn't, DIDN'T get the painfully, PAINFULLY obvious overuse of the title in the film. XD

I too prefer Film Brain's review over NC's. It was just better in every way. Plus, Mathew took some time to make fun of Zooey Deschanel and her huge freaking eyes. Not to mention her truly terrible acting in this unintentionally hilarious POS film. And this is one of the few movies that I hated but that Roger Ebert liked and actually gave three stars to. I didn't disagree with him often, but this is definetely one of those times.

I wonder what NC will "make fun of" next as part of his "Shyamalan Month": The Village or Lady In The Water. I haven't seen either of them and I don't want to, either!

I think Film Brain had a better skit too: RUN AWAY FROM THE WIND!

I haven't seen Lady in the Water, I have seen The Village though. I wouldn't say it's bad, it's not really good, it has a great cast but a lot of them feel wasted, it's twist makes the film quite interesting yet at the same time it felt like a better and creepier concept before we were told the twist. All I'll say about the twist is that I am still questioning the morality of these so called village elders who can continue with their *beep* long after they're dead. I understand why they did what they did but it still felt like they gave their children no choice and considering one of the characters who shows up in the end not everyone in the world is a horrible monster so... The Village is somewhat of a success because it's still making me think and ponder, but at the same time it could have been so much better.

I wish I could find the Ebert and Roeper review of The Village because I just LOVE Ebert's reaction: "I hated this movie." XD

Doug thinks that the hot dog guy "spoiled" the twist of the cause of the suicides.

In order to have a twist, you need the audience to believe in something, and THEN give new information to create the twist.

Since the assumption that it was some gas made by terrorists was discarded even earlier in the movie, the hot dog guy wasn't "spoiling" anything.

As a matter of fact, Hot Dog Guy was only the first person in the movie to suggest the actual twist in the movie at that point.

Not that the rest of the movie is any good.

On the plus side, if and when CinemaSins get to it, there will be a bonus round of additional points for the repeated use of thte word.

_____
The New Number 2: "Are you going to run?"
Number 6: "Like blazes. First chance I get."
