Too constructed
I actually kind of liked the movie but to be honest, it does seem very constructed and not very authentic.
It tries too hard to be unique from all perspectives.
In my opinion, this was a unique take on some old stories. I felt the writing and acting were tight; the chemistry between the two leads very convincing and for me, what I loved most about the movie, was that it showed what is to me an ideal romantic relationship - between two people that took the time to get to know each other before jumping into a committed partnership. They had good communication and all the barriers in a typical romantic relationship were broken because they were being honest and themselves. More people should begin relationships like this, give or take the benefits part. That would be up to individual tastes. :)
