It would have been much more interesting had they lost his case.
The happy ending looked like something I've seen a hundred times before.
Plus we would get more scenes with Rachel crying.
I could have done with more Rachel tears (just because an actress can cry on cue doesn't mean they should have the character doing it all the time) but I'm very happy that this innocent man didn't get executed for a crime he didn't commit!

Its not exciting though when you know how its gonna end.
In real life guilty people are executed. Show that reality once in a while (I know it has been done, but the happy ending route is in a very large majority).
