A CONSULTANT?
Really? If Mike can advise law without being in a bar, why didn't they hire him as consultant since the beginning of the show???

Wouldnt have a show otherwise. Do wish cahill comes after mike if he tries to pull anything though and puts him in jail. Unless mike becomes rachel, does grunt work and talks with clients. Its gotta be hard to convince clients that they werent doing illegal stuff and that mike is a fraud if he isnt going to take on any cases ever again.
shareYeah, that is pretty much what I have been thinking rewatching from the beginning the last few weeks. I guess would not be dramatic enough
Because Harvey was just made senior partner and he was required to hire an associate due to the firm's policy. He wasn't impressed with any of the applicants but he was impressed with Mike.
He couldn't just go "Hey, Jessica, I know I'm supposed to hire a Harvard graduate as an associate, but I'm going to hire this random guy as a consultant instead."
If he did, Jessica would be like "Goddammit, Harvey, I told you to hire a goddamn associate. If you're not going to do what I goddamn tell you to do, maybe promoting you to goddamn senior partner was a goddamn mistake."
And then there'd be no show because they weren't looking to hire a consultant, and it didn't matter how impressive Mike was.
SB,
Remember too that Hardman was still a partner so he'd have had to have gotten a "kicked out of his undergrad program for cheating" consultant past him too.
Dr Jason Bull: Don't give up on people, they're all we've got.
I could totally hear Jessica saying that! Hahaha
