Harvey should have hired Mike as an consultant from the get-go

Then they wouldn't have had half the problems they've had. Bring him in as an incredibly well-read consultant with an eidetic memory and expansive knowledge of the law. He could have pretty much done everything but argue cases in court, including working closely with Rachel and falling in love with her, without ever lying to anyone about his level of formal education. Louis would have looked down upon him up Mike demonstrated his expertise and saved Louis a few times.

Yeah but then i dont know if the show would have taken off like it did. Having Mike do it illegal and chance of getting caught the first season just made it different than many other shows. Now they are using this because they know the whole secret thing is ran its course. I would say if they would have started this way, the show maybe last 5-6 seasons. Now maybe they get another 3-4 and hopefully gets it to 10. Now they can work with Mike as a consultant, and if possible, get him to be a legal attorney (in tv land anything is possible. im sure they could come up w/some scenario to get him legal). I think the final shot of the show should be Specter-Ross. Or even Ross and Ross (mike and rachel)

The show definitely would not have taken off if Harvey did what I described because the show would have been much more like all the other lawyer shows on TV. Mike apparently also could have walked into a job as an investment banker without being a fraud like he (briefly) was instead of working as a lawyer which would be an incredibly boring show. Barring some special dispensation or loophole that none of these supposedly great legal minds haven't discovered, in addition to a pardon, Mike probably won't ever be a legitimate lawyer. If it's legal to have your name on a law firm without actually being a lawyer, he could do that and include a disclaimer that he's not technically a lawyer, just that he's an expert consultant who works with and manages lawyers. There are plenty people who own or manage businesses that specialize in things that they are clueless about so other than elitism, why not allow non-lawyers names on a firm? The 'Ross' in the name could also technically be Rachel's with many people assuming it's including or only for Mike.

All that may be true, but Jessica brought something different to the show too, and with her gone, and the way the episode wrapped, I think it would have made a great series finale. I can't see anything more coming of it, and I'm ready to throw in the towel too. I'm ready to put that baby to bed. I can't see coming back to watch the show without Jessica. I will miss her intelligence, her powerful speeches, and her wardrobe! It won't be the same without her.

Ravmeltt, I 100% cosign with everything you said and couldn't agree more. Gina Torres aka Jessica Pearson is the primary reason why I love Suits.

She makes that show and eats every scene she's in regardless of the storyline. I cannot image Suits without Jessica and I don't want to. Alas, it's the end of an era if so.

I'm sticking around. Gina made a career decision and as much as I loved the character I'm not going to stop watching.
For me it will be interesting to see where the show goes from here with Mike back as a consultant (c'mon, we all know he's going to accept Harvey's offer) and Jessica gone.
I do hope she makes guest appearances.

What I meant was that while it will be very difficult to continue watching without Jessica, I will still watch because I love the other characters as well. But I will keep looking for Jessica to pop up somehow.
