Does Donna annoy anyone else?

She is always bossing around everyone at the firm and telling them what to do like they work for her. I know she is smart and great at actually reading people but given her status at the firm isn't it unrealistic that she can behave that way with name/senior partners in the firm? I mean she is a secretary right? Lately its just been getting on my nerves.

reply

Yes, yes she does. Ive always found it unrealistic. Its one thing with Harvey but with the others its weird and unprofessional. In fact she has gotten mad on the rare occasions that Harvey has tried to impose his authority on her. Girl, thats his job.

Every episode since about season 3. It's funny to me because i see a lot of people on the boards complain about Rachel but she's never bothered me as a character. Donna however, is so manipulative and controlling, sure it seems to come from a place of caring but still, mind yo business gurl, mindyabizniz.

reply

IDK. Nurses will boss around young doctors. Louis's secretary speaks her mind too. Senior NCO's will boss around officers, and a lot of times the Colonel will take a Sgt Major's opinion over a Captain's.

reply

Yea okay buddy rare incidents doesn't make It the norm.

reply

I'm mostly good with Donna being Donna. The characters around her are too.
I do wish, however, she'd stop explaining everything as "I'm Donna".

Dr Jason Bull: Don't give up on people, they're all we've got.

reply

^^ seriously. That line has got to go.

reply

Louis's secretary (Gretchen) speaks her mind, but I've never seen her boss people around. I've certainly never heard her say "I'm Gretchen" as an explanation for anything. Donna annoys me to no end. She's supposed to know everything about everything at all times, and no one should dare question her. It has gone beyond showing how good she supposedly is at her job, to her being a completely obnoxious character.

reply

Agreed.

Donna is very smart but can be SO obnoxiously arrogant too.

Yup. She was fine in the first few seasons but now the show seems to want to prove that she has EVERYONE beat in the smarts department, and sometimes she even one ups Jessica with her "I'm Donna" mindgame bullsh-t. It's ridiculous. I'm not trying to be classist, but she IS a secretary and the show seems not to understand that. If they wanted her to be this insanely "gifted" at reading people, then why not make her a psychiatrist? Or if she's somehow so much better at Harvey and Mike, then make her a goddamn lawyer.

Donna is a know-it-all pain in the ass and I'm sick of her "I'm Donna therefore I know everything" schtick.

A rose is just a rose.

I don't mind Donna because she is at least nice to look at. I am really annoyed by that edgy rebel law student that works for Mike, though. She is basically like a female Mike (bad enough when there was just one of him, now they are multiplying).

I bet she's going to get more screen time as the season goes on, too. I hate when characters are super disrespectful and have a chip on their shoulder for absolutely no reason. And the show tries to make you root for that person or something stupid like that (like it did with Mike). Whereas in the real corporate world, acting like the arrogant punk that knows everything would get you stomped down (I've seen it happen first hand)

reply

The "I'm Donna" crap is ridiculous. I get that she's Harvey's right-hand woman, but the arrogance is super off-putting.

Alpha predators are very rarely interested in singalongs.

reply

Very little on this show would happen at a real-life law firm like this one.
