I just canceled this show

Keep this in mind we the viewers have the power to cancel a show. It is better to have a show continue and fail than have the network cancel it. When the ratings fail someone at the network that made the decision will have to explain why one of the most successful shows suddenly failed.

By the way I watch TV to be entertained, if I am no longer entertained I stop watching.

I don't care what happened behind the scenes all I care about watching something I enjoy

I wonder how many other people are canceling the show? Although the show was phony and scripted I enjoyed the chemistry between the guys and even though a lot of the script was made up nonsense the feelings they had toward each other seemed sincere. I don't think the replacements will have have the same feeling. You can't catch lightning in a bottle twice

For those of you that have not canceled the show, are you going to watch the show for a few more episodes before you make a decision?

I am glad they are going to produce a new season and are going to allow viewers to make the decision as to whether they will cancel

I want to win the Nobel Peace Prize so bad that I would kill to get it

Yes. I do not hold on to much hope that the new version of the show will be as good as the Clarkson, Hammond and May version. However, I believe it is only fair that I give the new version a chance. If after a couple of episodes the show is boring or whatever, based on an educated decision and not one out of feelings, I will delete the timer.

I agree.

let's give it a chance, but sofar not too impressed.
Trailer preview says: Top Gear is back this may.
But one could also say: Top Gear dismay :)

The BBCA commercial for the three part series 'build a car in 24 hours' with James May aired at the same time BBCA was also airing Top Gear commercials, which repeatedly used the word, "May". Awkward.

The new season of the US version of Top Gear on the History channel will begin airing later this month. I think it said the 26th. I had thought that the show had already ended due to poor ratings.

I gave it a chance. Chris Evans was annoying me before the opening 'Tonight on Top gear' section had finished. In fact, he was annoying me before he'd finished his first sentance. 10 minutes was 10 minutes too much, so I turned it off, I couldn't take any more.

I'll give it a go, but don't have very high hopes.

I don't think i will watch the new show, because I just can't imagine it being as funny as the old one, and I am not a car person, i watched for the humour, not the cars. If you like cars then I imagine the new one will still be worth watching, but for me it isn't.

Anytime a tv series pulls a stunt like this, fires a host/actor, I automatically take it off the dvr list. I haven't watched the tonight show since the Conan fiasco, I never watched 2 and half men after sheen was fired, and I am in no way the least bit curious to see how this train wreck turns out.

No, you do NOT have the powers to cancel a show.

I get why you're using the idea, but you're creating a new usage for a word to fit your personal remit. And that's just foolishness.

You have the same rights everyone does;you can not watch the show.

Only the BBC can cancel a show, irrespective on how powerful an action you think you not watching it, is.

(And no, I'm not defending the new show either)
