I can't wait to read the comments on facebook from people trying to defend this atrocity.
If chris wasn't in it it would be a heck of a lot better everything he does is over the top to the extreme and it's clear from the look of the audience (as was reported in the news), chris wasn't winning them over, they looked bored and all of chris jokes fell flat and to even have the gumption to mock jezza's fraca and exclaim with fake glee they kept the stig... chris ego is writing checks his but can't cash.
yeah pun intended.
i wonder how much the bbc paid sabine to play lackey to chris on the top gun segment, i mean seriously how does she / her co pilot not shoot chris when they are moving slowly IN FRONT OF THEM?!
Yes the former team were as comfortable as your favourite slippers.
shareIt was amazing fantastic thoroughly enjoyed that, best episode ever!!! I'm glad those horrible people are gone because they were crap, and it is better now.
What a great start.
The opening with the Viper was absolutely super.
The sketch with the Nando was great fun like what they do in the old series.
Good that some of the things have been kept from the old series!!
The guests were really interesting tonight, which is better than I expected. The guests obviously feel the show will be a hit, otherwise they would not have signed up.
There were sort of two things the American and British reliants challenge and then the jeep challenge and they were both really fun, I thought the first episode went off with a bang.
And then Chris cheated at the end which was really funny lol
He is really funny, he is!!
How high / drunk are you ?

😨
shareWhat they seem to be trying looks to be a reasonable change to the format, although they need to get a bit more cohesive as a presenting team before it can be called "fantastic".
When Matt LeBlanc was doing the prerecorded bits he was (mostly) good, but his studio "banter" with Chris Evans felt a little too forced. He seemed too much like he was acting rather than trying to be an actual presenter. I hope it's just a "new team getting to know each other" thing that will sort itself out with time, otherwise it could be a short run for the new show.
The Stars in a Rally Car bit seemed very awkward. If there was an actual interview like a chat show it may have made sense to have unconnected stars, but when they were both basically there to plug stuff with no real chatter it seemed jarring. The "best car" part of that segment was actually quite uncomfortable to watch.
The USA vs UK challenge was OK, although Matt's bit before they got to Blackpool was, again, a little too much like acting rather than presenting. Hopefully that's just down to him being new to presenting, though, and will become more natural as the show progresses.
Good luck, Captain. I think you're about to go where everyone has gone before

The "star" was suppose to be Brad Pitt, Jesse Eisenberg and Gordon Ramsey were replacements. There's a cold relationship between Chris and Matt. Chris did not want Matt on the show, but the, now, ex-producer insisted.
What change to format? The only change is instead of 3 presenters, we have 2 now and the rallycross track.
All in all it was very poor. And i read somewhere that this Evans guy became highest paid BBC presenter. Ridiculous for this.
A lot of people online with the feedback are annoyed by Evans. And thats smth which cant be changed. If you dont like his voice/presence/look it just wont work.
When you think about it. They had opportunity here to completely rebuild the show. Make it different. Evans was talking prior the show how they will make changes. If anything it felt like they just kept it same but there is no chemistry and Evans is not likeable compared to the previous 3 presenters.
UK is a big country. They surely could have find better replacements. I dont get how this Evans guy even worked all those years in bbc before. Just annoying.

I stopped paying the licence fee years ago when the BBC increasingly became a mouthpiece for left-wing extremism, but Top Gear was the only reason I could conceive for people persisting in paying it. That excuse is gone now however with this bilge under the same name.
shareSomebody obviously wasn't the same programme. It was Crap! with a capital C. I bet Matt Le Blanc regretting being a co-host. Car crash tv is not good on your CV/resumé.
