Just watched the first episode

First, I am American. I am an American that thinks the TopGear over here is terrible. TERRIBLE! I would have at least one episode play on my TV once a day. I've seen each episode multiple times. I finally told myself to sit down and watch with the new presenters. First thing I noticed is them showing how many people were in the audience. Almost as if they knew they aren't as good and have something to prove. Until today I only have seen Evans once before. I'm not sure what he is popular for with you lovely Brits, but he is terrible. Why is he so loud? Jeremy was charmingly jerkish. Evans just seems like a freakin @$$. Is he a car guy? Or just like cars? The show may be better if he were gone, or way in the back. He can't be a front man. He seems like the type that is never nice. Just a guy pretending to be nice.

I often wonder the same thing, and I'm British.

I don't think Evans is really well liked. When it was first announced that he was taking over Top Gear, the reactions were almost universally negative. It seems more that nobody likes this guy, but the Beeb insisted on hiring him anyway. But they're like politicians, they don't listen to vox populi.

He just likes them and owns a lot of them, but he's not knowledgable about them.

Give him time people probably thought the same thing about Jeremy Clarkson when he started.
