Anybody been catching Jay Leno's Garage?

I have been trying to watch the new Top Gear. I just don't like it. I'm actually thinking the American Top Gear with Adam Ferrara might actually be better.

But I have been watching Jay Leno's Garage on CNBC. Something about it reminds me of the old Top Gear. And Leno is a likable guy.

BBC Top Gear was obviously the best show until Clarkson & Co. were asked to leave. The new show (hosts) are just terrible and lack the chemistry that used to be Top Gear. Just boring, vanilla show now. American Top Gear is more watchable now compared to BBC, but Jay Leno's garage is great and somewhat fills the void of missing Clarkson, Hammond and May. JL's Garage has some cars I've never seen before from his own collection. Great timing for this show to come out.

Yeah, I watch 'Jay Leno's Garage;' he's a good presenter, and I like the fact that he showcases mainly older vehicles. I wonder if Top Gear UK thought of offering HIM a job, if they were determined to have one American presenter?

reply

Yeah. Leno would have had to be the lead though, and he's not British. I don't think he'd play second fiddle. He's definitely funnier than those two guys though. And he's a car guy, through and through.

reply

They could replace all three of the jackwads on Top Gear USA with Leno.

BBC America announced today that it's cancelled. If I ever see that whining Rutledge Wood again it'll bee too soon.

reply

I don't even know who was who, on TG USA. The only guy who seemed to have any personality or presence was the short New Yawk guy.

If you're getting 'Jay Leno's Garage,' chances are you can also get 'Chasing Classic Cars' and 'Iron Resurrection' ('restoration'? not sure on the exact title, right now), and probably 'Vegas Rat Rods.' They all run to my primary interest, which is old and/or unusual vehicles.

I'd advise you give them a look.

The guy who looks like Tony Danza from Taxi is Adam Ferrara. Rut Wood is the fat guy that whines a lot.

reply

Don't be too hard on the guy; imagine growing up with a name like 'Rutledge.'

- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.

reply

I'm fully aware! My name is very uncommon.

reply

Maybe you could get it legally changed to 'Barry Uncommon?'

- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.

reply

I watch Jay's show if I find the cars interesting.

I like Jay Leno but for example this week was bikes. I'm just not into motorcycles.

I like pretty much anything with wheels, but I like old and/or unusual vehicles. I fast forward through the supercars and new car features on Top Gear. I hate it when they compete at challenges in new vehicles, because I know they're not going to do any really crazy tests with them.

- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.
