Honestly...
Do Brits and Europeans in general really want to see an American as one of the top Gear hosts?
I know, as an American, I prefer it remain British. Seems less authentic any way else.

That's so mean. She has to be disabled on top of being 1 legged and blind ?!!
shareI think its quite a good idea to have an American, as the previous three Brits, all with very similar lifestyles and opinions is funny to watch but not as interesting as having someone with a different cultural approach to cars.
Leblanc is very likeable, it may be different if it was someone annoying.
Also while UK and USA are quite similar, there is a friendly rivalry and competition there that could make for some interesting episodes i think.
"dont you hear that horrible screaming all around you? That screaming men call silence."
Le Blanc is as affable as he can disguise at his best but Evans clearly rubbed him up the wrong way by unfairly laying blame on Le Blanc happening to have been the driver , a well loved actor on foreign soil essentially, during the production team failure cenotaph unaired segment.
They should have rewrote the format a lot. Le Blanc could have played a more natural role as their American correspondent who keeps on making excuses why he has to keep on filming segments in LA, Miami etc. I suspect that 'WIIILLL' from TFI Friday could have been worth having for car challenge segments.
