A lot of male posters here seem to hate James Franco

who is handsome, rich, successful, and got to work with (and occassionally kiss) three attractive women. Hmm.

And all women are supposed to be the jealous, threatened ones?

Note: This is just a half-serious post mocking all the ridiculous, sexist posts on several boards defensively accusing women of being jealous of popular female stars simply for disliking them (especially if the stars have a legit reason to be disliked, like being overhyped badly in looks, untalented or obnoxious) when I notice the guys here are typically the ones acting genuinely threatened by some male celeb getting a bit of female attention (cough Twilight actors). It's very hypocritical.

It feels like a male Mean Girls atmosphere sometimes here. I like James for the most part but I don't see the need to hate on him; he isn't THAT important.

We're collecting dust, but our love's enough.

He's in the lines of Affleck and Hathaway, to name a few. People just hate to hate.

Nothing wrong with Franco. Good actor, good looks and good sense of humor with that killer smile to boot!

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

reply

Quite right moosefeathers... people also like to hate on those they are jealous of. The world would be a much better place if people would spend HALF the energy they use on hatred and gossip to actually better themselves and become successful in their own right.

It might be laziness.... it's easier to hate and be jealous I guess. Meh.

Male, straight and a fan of James Franco.
Blows your desperate attempt at portraying men as being as insecure with good looking successful members of the same sex as women are out of the water.

reply

Male, straight and, on the basis of what I've seen so far, any acting talent he may have has not yet appeared on screen.

reply

And yet, most of us straight guys LIKE guys like Brad Pitt and George Clooney, widely considered two of the most successful and good looking actors of their respective generations.

I've got nothing against Franco, I consider him a decent actor in specific roles, but your post is totally baseless.

reply

Don't hate him, but hes not a good actor

reply

They hate him ever since he tried to kill his best friend Peter (Spider-Man) :-)

reply

I love his talent and his performance as Oz

reply

I thought he was perfect. He played it to perfection and as it was out of his stereo-typical role, I was double wow-ed
