You wouldn't be able to win a race in a modern mclaren... That was just stupid.

Who cares? It's a comedy. Besides, it's been said in many movies that it's not the car that wins the race but the driver...and also what the writers choose to make happen in the film to fit within their movies story.

It really didn't play in the story which car it was, so it might as well could of been a winning team. Not even Lewis Hamilton could win in a mclaren.

Well he could if he was cast to drive the car within this movies universe. It is what it is.
