I see so many people complaining that the force awakens is a remake of a new hope.
But when the wachowskis give them new scifi with an original plot...they still hate it.
These people believe the film was bad regardless of its originality.
shareI've literally seen people critique the film on the basis of its having been too original, which pretty much says it all. I've really come to appreciate that JA was simply too much for most people to digest in one sitting - that's why there are so many people dismissing it as incomprehensible nonsense.

The fact is people don't want originality or non-source material movies.
The proof is in the box office numbers.
Jurrassic World and Star Wars:TFA, two poor movies are the biggest box office hits of 2015.

Jupiter Ascending took most of it's plot from The Matrix. Mainly the part about humans being used for the benefit of a superior race. The Force Awakens at least has major fundamental differences between it and Star Wars.
