Wow you guys are tough

I thought the story was original and awesome. My main criticisms would be that they should've developed some of the characters more. It also would've been nice to see how the earth was seeded and how it developed. I actually like the Wachoski formula of a chosen reincarnated being trying to save the world from human harvesters. The Matrix was a great film back in the day and this film is on par with that series for me. I enjoyed the pace of film...It had a good balance of action and story progression. The way that future technology was introduced in the scenes was excellent. The aliens, ufo/uso, gravity boots, the sonic weapon and portals...I was surprised and delighted when each burst on the screen. As a fan of video games I was blown away by the digital art. The attention to detail and precision that went into each scene was much appreciated. The fighting was intense especially the hand to hand combat between Caine and Striker and between Caine and the Dragon Royal Guard...I wish they could've done more of that. The earth military should have been represented somewhere in the film. At least raise a flag or sound an alarm. The acting while a bit flat at times also had humor and charm to it. To me Jupiter Ascending was multi dimensional and fresh movie...mostly action and romance, it also had lots of drama and suspense and a little comedy too. I think the movie would have had more success if it was 100% digital though. Even adding another 30 minutes and bringing a few more scenes to add more depth to the characters and world would have helped. I think this movie had a lot going for it and it's one of my favorites. In time it'll be remembered as a classic. For some reason right now most people just can't seem to enjoy when digital art and live action blend so much...

I agree. I love it! That chase scene in the first part of the movie is amazing. Like you, I don't understand the hate for this movie. Maybe it should have had some graphic sex; they could have called it "Fifty Shades of Jupiter." Blech.
