Better than the Force Awakens

Had Star Wars: The Force Awakens not been riding on the glory of previous movies and had started out as an IP, i don't see how it would be regarded any higher than Jupiter Ascending. as a sci-fi fan i enjoyed Jupiter Ascending more than the Force Awakens. This movie was very unfairly criticized.

JA was getting criticise in social media two years before the original release date. I don't understand why this was happening.
I think JA is a very good movie, it's also better than BvS.

I prefer this movie to 90% of the superhero nonsense released in the past few years. No it's not perfect, but at least it has a creative setting and premise, unlike most blockbuster action films you see released in any given month.

reply

There are some movies that automatically get criticized by the media during production (Titanic, Mad Max: FR) and yet they overcome it.

reply

I agree one hundred percent. The Wachowskis are doing some amazing stuff right now. It really feels like people decided their opinions on this one long before they saw the movie, if they even really watched it. The hate is very disappointing and not helpful to science fiction that isn't owned by disney.

reply

Its garbage with an unoriginal storyline, bad acting, bad dialogue.

better movie than tfa. yes!

reply

All of you are wrong. TFA isn't the best sci-fi of the year, but it is better than JA.

TFA is the seventh movie of an incredible universe that was established. TFA has very little to create as most of the viewers understood the basic concepts (though it did not add any concept, only extending the history).

The flying scenes and aerial combat images were difficult to follow, while TFA was entertaining to watch.

Jupiter Ascending wasn't the worst movie of the year, but is was indeed bad. Listen to the bees. The bees will tell you that.

Agree. On a technical level JA is just fine, but the story is especially for
a conceptualised trilogy way to weak. Basicly it`s the story of empowerement
of Jupiter, hence Jupiter Ascending, but de facto that simply wasnt happening
because the writers decided not to touch probably edgy topics. Like for example
what Jupiter will do with her power. She literally owns the earth and all what
is living on it. She is the legitimate heir of an ages old dynasty of interstellar
nobility. Yet she decides to continue to clean toilets and be quiet about it be-
cause no one would believe her ? Sorry, but landing with a space cruiser in front
of the white house and a little chat with Mr. President would make anybody in the world believe it.....

reply

What would the the benefit of having mere earthlings know that you own Earth? The whole purpose of owning a planet is so that you can harvest it, and she obviously doesn't want to harvest Earth.

reply

So you simply let the whole sh.t happen that happens on your planet, despite
you have the power to stop it and rather clean toilets instead and fly with
your spaceboots through the air in your sparetime ?
C`mon,give me a break.

reply

I echo your opinion. "The Force Awakens" is solid in itself but I just don't get the non-stop criticism towards "Jupiter Ascending". While I did hope they make Jupiter a more pro-active lead character, it was still an enjoyable sci-fi movie, especially with the all-out cinematography. Very underrated.

Adoring Haley Reinhart. Buy her "Listen Up" and "Better" albums.

You must be smoking crack. This movie isn't in the same ballpark as Force Awakens. This movie is the trash that comes out of my ass after eating popcorn while watching a good movie. Don't ever insult Star Wars again by comparing it to this garbage.

What are you going to do internet tough guy? your opinion is as worthless as everyone else's He just has more class than you.

reply

Not an Internet tough guy, just someone that doesn't stand by when stupidity is being spewed. But I guess you're the IMDB police so I have to apologize. Yeah right. You weirdos are allowed your opinion and so am i, class or not.
