JA coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in October

See this thread for release dates: http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=280602

Surprised Warner is giving it another release but I suppose they want to get the format going and it's relatively easy to release a recently shot movie plus I think it didn't do that bad on DVD/Blu-ray (not saying it did great either) so why not. And of course it's a great looking film, that's probably the first reason it was considered.

How much of an improvement the 4K release will be remains to be seen. The film was shot in 2.8K and finished in 2K, but they could go back and re-assemble the pure live action 2.8K parts and 2K CGI separately (and upscale them both of course). All depends on how easy it is and how cheap is Warner 😀

Good news in any case, the more formats it's available the higher the chance that people will discover it and watch it.

Maybe they are going to add the missing footage. If so, the story might make sense.

But actually JA has done very good in the post theatrical markets (VOD,streaming and DVD/ Blu Ray).

The UHD blu-ray looks a bit better, not a lot, but a bit. And in the reviewer's opinion the VUDU UHD stream looks a bit better over the UHD br.
