Critics unfair judgement.

For the most part, scifi stories are ridiculous and stupid.
Movie critics generally know this fact. This is why most scifi movies are judged on technical and aesthetics (Gravity, Interstellar, Star Wars etc).
Unfortunately, with JA the critic didn't focus on the technology and aesthetics, but focused on the story instead.
This was unfair to dismiss one of the most beautiful looking of all times and complain about the scifi story.
The Wachowskis created a world that has never been seen before and the critic just ignore this world.

Another problem I have with the critics, mostly all of them was to busy comparing JA to the Matix.
Gravity and Interstellar can't hold up against the Matix either, but the critics loved those movies anyway.

I'm more annoyed by the unfair criticism or ridicule from audiences. I remember all the pre-release complaints about how Tatum's ears looked ridiculous in the trailers and when the movie was released there were hardly any loud complaints about them because, just like I expected, 2 minutes after you see them you get used to them and they look normal. But it was too late by then.

That's true, there was a lot of criticism from fans before the movie came out. I think it was coming from Nolan and Marvel fanboys, who felt threaten of another scifi franchise.
Hopefully, one day JA will gets its just do.

JA's plot had a CW Network quality to it, making it an easy target among the fanbases you mentioned. But I still enjoy JA. Very underrated and deserves more appreciation.

Adoring Haley Reinhart. Buy her "Listen Up" and "Better" albums.

The story is not strong, but feasible.

Jurassic World is a movie that the SyFy Network could have aired, but critics and fans gave it a pass anyway.
JW is now jokingly being called the most expensive original SyFy Network movie ever made, because of its lame story.

The CW Network scifi shows are much better than SyFy Network shows.

I disagree...It may have been true once but not in 2016...
You cannot have only great visuals if you have such a terrible story...

Gravity, one of the most overrated movie of all times, has a terrible story.
Interstellar's story was even worst.

Also other recent scifi movies with terrible stories has faired better with critic:
Godzilla
Independence Day 2
Man of Steel
John Carter
Battleship
Lucy
RoboCop
Tomorrowland
Terminator:Genisys
Batman Vs Superman
Ghostbusters

Gravity was more of an experience...especially in 3D...great visuals great performances that kept movie grounded...It was a struggle for survival in the most hostile environment...There is nothing more to it...
No cheesy soap opery nothing...I´m not surprised Jupiter has huge female following...

JA also had great visuals and great experience in 3D. Which is why WB has released a 4K blu-ray version.
As far as Gravity having great performances, I guess it was great if you like Sandra Bollock screaming for two hours.

reply

I cannot deny great visuals in JA...Gravity was an experience because I really felt like I was in the moment with them...And Bullock surprised me she was pretty believable...very organic acting...

Kunis on the other hand...looking bored or not impressed when on another planet? I consider her now a bad actress she was horrible...

Look I respect that you like it I just agree with general consensus ON THIS...I have so many movies that got the shorter end of the stick especially in the last year...
But I ddn´t even finish JA..I had to stop after wedding scene...so much cheesy and cliche ws too much for me...

I respect your opinion I respectfully disagree on the thing that great visuals should be enough for movie to be good...nope

And I also recognise that you will not like anything that I say

I think the problem with it that on first viewing its visual overdose, the W's threw everything and willing to bet if you slow it down there's a kitchen sink in there.

Someone here suggested this was three sequeled movies rolled into one, because there so much info as well as images in there and much is missing: like how exactly do you erase the memories of everyone who saw the Chicago battle and how was everything 'repaired', and no one died?

I think this may have worked better as a miniseries, oh well missed op by the W's

reply

I'm not saying this is a great movie. My original point is critics judged JA differently than other scifi movies.
They let other scifi movies getaway with certain things that they didn't let JA getaway with these same things.
