shareThat doesn't look similar to be honest. In the movie's universe the boots don't allow you to go up unless you do some jumping moves (eg from wall to wall as Caine did outside the egg donation clinic) to gain altitude. Otherwise, at best you can maintain your altitude or drop.
Marine Boy seems to be able to move where he wants in an instant, including upwards.
Those gravity boots were a bunch of cheaters. I mean take a look, it's almost like he's flying, and even better at 'flying' than flying spaceships chasing after him.
Towards the end of the movie, how could a pair of 'skates' make you fly? Cheating again.
