Best description of the movie

I can't remember if it was on a nerdist podcast or a rooster teeth podcast I heard this on but the best description of this movie is and I'm paraphrasing,

-It's like somebody took a trilogy of books and used the first half of the first book and the last half of the third book and made a movie out of it.-

If you like the History Channel's program Ancient Aliens, you'll love Jupiter Ascending!

Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night.

That's pretty accurate. There's so much backstory and history missing about what's going on that it took away from the film.

I'm not a fan of exposition but I think the film could have had a lot more of it to just explain who the *beep* everyone was and what was going on in more depth.

I might agree except that every time the movie does take the time to 'explain' things, the explanations are really stupid and nonsensical. It might have worked better as a simple exercise in style and imagery with a surreal storyline. The images during the collapse of the Jupiter station and the fight sequence between Caine and the reptile-thing were really cool. If they couldn't come up with a story to justify them, next-best idea is to just show it without explanation imo.

It frustrating, we never found out why Caine killed a royal and why he don't remember doing it.

Best description: lazy writing.
